I should start this blog by confessing something: I’m no expert in sobriety—not even close. I’m not a doctor, psychologist, or professional writer. So, what am I doing writing a blog about getting sober?
One reason for starting this blog is to allow myself to journal my emotions and thoughts as I embark on this challenging journey to recalibrate my life. In that sense, this blog will be good for me.
But as I considered sharing my story, I realized that the very fact that I’m not unique may resonate with others. My life might look exactly like yours. There was no singular moment when it became clear that the drinking had to stop.
If I’m being honest—and I always will be—I’m 15 days into my sober journey, which, for now, I’ve told my wife is a “30-day reset.”
Through this blog, I’ll give readers an inside look at my journey. I’ll share my feelings, heartaches, real-world challenges, and, of course, the joys of sobriety.
My hope is that you’ll see yourself in my journey and that together, we can succeed in creating a better life without alcohol.
I look forward to telling my story and helping you forge ahead as you rewrite your own.
Cheers,
Paul
